FAQ

  1. What is Danelia's Wine?

Danelia's Wine is a historic Georgian family brand founded in Batumi in 1907 by Vladimer Danelia. Across several generations, one family has preserved a signature ancestral winemaking tradition, making it one of Georgia's oldest continuously operating wine brands. Our motto captures the spirit of the house: our wine is our history, and our history is our honor.

  1. What makes Danelia's Wine unique?

Our distinctiveness comes from a patrimonial technology in which the wine is treated with natural honey and honeycomb. This ancestral method naturally protects the wine and enriches it with a broad spectrum of beneficial properties. In 2019, by decision of the Government of Georgia, this traditional technique was granted the status of a Monument of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Georgia (FAOLEX-FAOC193818) - a recognition otherwise held only by the ancient Qvevri wine.

  1. Can I visit you and taste the wine?

Yes. You are warmly welcome at Danelia's Old Wine House, our shop-museum in the historic heart of Batumi at 43 Z. Gamsakhurdia St. Every guest is invited to enjoy a complimentary tasting of modern Danelia's Wine, and the venue preserves authentic museum exhibits and original signature labels from the 1907–1921 period. In 2025 the Old Wine House received the Adjara Tourism Department's special prize, "Magnolia 2025."

  1. What wines and products do you offer?

Our collection includes the exclusive heritage Danelia's Wine range as well as beloved popular Georgian varietals such as Ojaleshi, Alexandrouli, Khvanchkara, Kindzmarauli, Mukuzani and Tsinandali - in red and white, dry and semi-sweet styles. We also offer draft wines in PET bottles, chacha and Georgian brandy, and handcrafted ceramic bottles that make unique souvenirs and gifts.

  1. How do I place an order online?

Browse our wines, add the bottles you like to your cart, and proceed to checkout. Enter your delivery details, choose courier delivery or in-store pickup, and confirm your order. You will receive a confirmation by email or phone. Creating an account lets you track your orders and save your favourites, but you can also order as a guest.

  1. What payment methods do you accept?

All prices are shown in Georgian Lari (GEL) and include VAT. You can pay by bank card, in cash on delivery or at pickup, or by bank transfer. Card and online payments are processed through secure, encrypted channels.

  1. Do you deliver, and how long does it take?

Yes. We deliver daily in Batumi and its surroundings, and across Georgia via courier service. Orders in Batumi typically arrive within 1–2 working days, and in other Georgian cities within 2–4 working days. The delivery fee is calculated at checkout based on address and weight, and free delivery applies to orders above a certain amount. You can also collect your order free of charge from our shop-museum in Batumi.

  1. Is there an age restriction for buying wine?

Yes. In accordance with Georgian law, the sale of alcoholic beverages is permitted only to persons aged 18 and over. By placing an order you confirm that you are 18 or older, and our courier may request a valid identity document on delivery. Orders are not handed over to anyone under 18.

  1. Can I return a wine or report a damaged order?

You may cancel an order before it is dispatched. Delivered products can be returned only if the item is damaged or does not match your order. In that case, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order and we will arrange a replacement or a refund.

  1. Do you offer wholesale, export, corporate gifts or events?

Yes. We partner with restaurants, retailers and distributors in Georgia and abroad, and we prepare memorable corporate gifts and souvenir sets. We also host tastings, celebrations and delegation visits at our living wine museum, and produce made-to-order ceramic bottles. To discuss any of these, simply get in touch with our team.
